No more Semele’s Riches Facebook Page

IMG_7405

If you manage a page yourself, you’re aware that Facebook has made a lot of changes to how they work in the last few months- mostly geared toward making things profitable for Facebook. Which is totally fine, except that, for people like me, who have pages not because Facebook is what we do, but because it’s a convenient way for people to keep in touch with our blogs, it is no longer necessarily an effective way to do that.

Going forward, I have set up my personal page so that my blog posts are set to “public,” meaning that you’ll see them if you subscribe to my public updates. Just push the “follow” button.  I have also added myself to BlogLovin’, so if you are a BlogLovin’ lover, I hope you’ll join me there. (And if you aren’t, you should check it out. If you read any blogs at all, it’s a pretty cool way to organize them.) Thank you all, as always, for being here.

  1. I read a very good article (which I unfortunately did not bookmark) talking about how a small business or blog can spend more time managing the facebook page than actually doing what they do best. And since I am really not interested in that, it was way, way time to throw in the towel on the facebook page, and make sure I’m connecting with people in ways that don’t throw up barriers to those connections.
